About Joy Yelin

Professor Yelin has provided music instruction to educators from all areas of the performing arts at the Manhattan School of Music, New York City, Temple University, Philadelphia, and other universities and conservatories throughout the United States and Canada. Her credentials include a Dalcroze International License; Bachelor of Professional Studies, State University New York; Certified Teacher of Music, New York and Florida; MTNA Nationally Certified Master Teacher of Eurhythmics; and forty years as a professional music instructor.
As Artist-in-Residence with the Sarasota County Council of the Arts, and previously with the Westchester County Arts Council in New York, Yelin created a program of "Music/Movement and Curriculum Development." She has also developed a workshop series for non-musicians: "Music and Movement: Pathway to Vitality." Ms. Yelin is the published author of six books, has written numerous articles for music journals and created dozens of music education audio-visual programs. Ms. Yelin continues to write, compose, and conduct undergraduate and graduate workshops nationwide and in her studio.
